PC3200 DDR in X40?

Will this memory work in an X40?

I know it won't run full speed but the stick i want to buy happens to be this speed...

yes, it will work. As you said, there will be no performance gain by using it over pc2700.

The chipset of notebook(s) now supports 333 MHz DDR ram.
You can use the faster DDR with the higher price but the same performance.
Don't wast your money.
