WTB: A31P Systemboards, used but functional
Hello,
as I have managed to kill several A31P-systemboards by shere stupidness and/or bad luck and as nevertheless my twins need the promised notebooks (re)built for their schoolneeds:
I'm looking for 2 bare A31P fully functional Systemboards (FRU Numbers: 26P8399 or 26P8430, 64MB VideoRam, ATI Radeon 7800/M7, with or without securitychip).
I've seen prices with spareparts-vendors I'm not able to accept, but lately found acceptable rates on ebay, too. (Meanwhile: Objects sold).
P.S.: Any hints, where to find someone, that would test/repair my wracked boards at a reasonable price, would be welcome, too.

I don't know if you'd be interested in this, but I have a spare A30 motherboard that I could send to you. The only problem it has is that it won't light the indicator lights on an inverter, it works fine otherwise. I'd sell this for $20 + shipping.

Any A31 MB will work. You'll only lose the video-in and Firewire ports.

Re: WTB: A31P Systemboards, used but functional
Thanks, Jamiphar,
Thanks Sjthinkpader,
for offering Your help, but my twins would notice the difference...
I have tested my defunct boards again:
- Two of them have video/graphics-memory problems (says PC-doctor)
- One, probably the one I bought in the US, lifted the security chip and stored aside, tells me it has a problem with securitychip (beeping four times, several times)
- Three show no signs of life at all.
- One of the A31Ps I rebuilt shows "signs of age": intermittent freezing, although PC-Doctor does judge CPU (2,5Ghz), Memory (2GB), video and the rest of systemboard ok, drives are new.
I shall stick to A31P-Boards, I will just have to take some time. I have been collecting (buying) spare parts for the last 2 Years, in order to have at least two laptops of 1st class working condition for my girls. I can take another month or two.
