Help: Incorrect Windows Vista COA Label on my new X61s?

#1 Post by leesiulung » Sun Jan 11, 2009 7:33 pm

So I received my new X61s and been happy about it (except for the fact that they had to downgrade my screen from Ultralight as they no longer carry it), but the Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) label states it is for Windows Vista Business. I paid extra for Windows Vista Ultimate with the downgrade option to Windows XP.

What I expected to receive:

-Vista Ultimate Recovery CD's
-Windows Vista Ultimate CoA label
-"Potentially" Windows XP Profesionall CoA label (I'm not sure how this license work... maybe not?)
-Windows XP Professional pre-loaded on the laptop

Instead I received:

-No Recovery CD's at all
-Windows Vista Business CoA label
-Windows XP Professional pre-loaded on the laptop

In other words, no mention of Vista Ultimate or even the CD's. How the heck am I suppose to upgrade to the Vista license I paid for.

Anyone share a similar experience? I will have to call Lenovo's shoddy customer service on Monday.... Please help!

Yes, the phone call part is your only option. The 'shoddy customer service' part is not necessarily the experience of many others who have used this service. I've used Lenovo Customer Service many, many times, and I think they are really good. With the XP downgrade, you should only have the Vista Ultimate COA on the bottom.
