Vista Business 64 Preload Question

#1 Post by eecon » Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:57 pm

If I buy a used T61p that originally came preloaded with Vista Business 64 (and assuming the Service Partition is intact), do I get the option to restore the system with the 32-Bit Version rather than the 64-Version?

Or, am I forever stuck with the 64-Version?
Two - T61p 15.4" WS T9300 2.5Ghz units, August 2008 08/08 Builds + Nvidia FX570M GPUs, One - T42 15" Flexview 1.8GHz + ATI GPU for travel, Two - T500 15.4" T9600 & T9400 CPUs with ATI HD3650 GPUs, One - Stupidly Fast W520 15.6" i7-2860QM + Nvidia 2000M GPU + Series 3 Dock w/USB 3.0

If the preload and COA is VB 64bit, then that is what is available to load on recovery.

If you can get a hold of the vista business 32 bit restore DVDs, then those will install the 32 bit version without problem.
