Need Keyboard parts for my T43. 15"
Need Keyboard parts for my T43. 15"
My little ones popped out some of the keys and a few of the plastic blue stickies were damaged/lost.
I would like to purchase replacement parts or a non functional keyboard to steal parts from.
Please let me know if anyone knows where replacement parts can be purchased.
thanks..

Re: Need Keeboard parts for my T43.
Is this a 14" or 15" T43? The keyboards are different.

It's a 15". I believe the model is 2686-DHU.Harryc wrote:Is this a 14" or 15" T43? The keyboards are different.

You could make an offer on this one on EBay, or search for similar there. Or hang out a bit here and see what's offered. You just have to make sure that the mechanism under the keytops is the same. Good luck.

A quick check with ibm key t4* gives you lots of them, such as

The parts are the same for 14" and 15".

True, given the same manufacturer, but you have to be careful that the actual scissor mechanism is the same if that is what is needed. Keytops can be different as well, mainly because they snap onto different scissor mechanisms. The cups underneath are also different between different manufacturers. If the OP wants to avoid this confusing world, just buy an entire working keyboard for a 15" T40, 41, 42, or 43. Now, if you take the keyboard off and provide the FRU number on the keyboard, then it gets easier to match individual keytops, scissors, etc.RealBlackStuff wrote:The parts are the same for 14" and 15".

Are you talking about the plastic hinges under the keys or the rubber done? If its just the rubber dome, I think they're interchangeable between keyboards. When I was missing one on my A31, I carefully cut one out of a spare TP570 keyboard as a replacement and that worked just fine.redrock wrote:My little ones popped out some of the keys and a few of the plastic blue stickies were damaged/lost.
Edit: I just saw what Harry posted above... I guess I was just lucky that the dome from my 570 fit!
