Increasingly lightening the trackpoint button?
Increasingly lightening the trackpoint button?
I have my trackpoint on maximum speed, lightest "stiffness" yet it still is too stiff for me. Is there some way to make it even "faster" "less stiff"? Is there some registry entry to change?
Trackpoint sensitivity slider is set to "light touch"
Motion: Select pointer speed slider is set to "fast"
Enhance pointer precision checkbox is set.
So how does one go beyond these maximum settings? Is there some registry options to change? TIA.

Try using the soft rim trackpoint cap.

Indeed, use the mushroom shaped TrackPoint cover and uncheck hte pointer precision selection.

Re: Increasingly lightening the trackpoint button?
I just had a similar problem with a Trackpoint which seemed to be very stiff. It would take an extraordinary amount of pressure to get it to move; some directions were better than others but it didn't seem "normal". I checked all of the mouse settings and they were fine. I removed the rubber cap to see if there was anything visible in the Trackpoint post and the answer to my problem was quite evident. The cap itself was split down one side. Although the top of the cap still had some roughness to it (a "classic" version), apparently the rubber was old enough or was used too hard and it resulted in the breakage. I installed a new cap and it worked great.

Re: Increasingly lightening the trackpoint button?
I've been looking for a way to increase the sensitivity beyond the maximum allowed by Windows' Control Panel of my T42 and T61p trackpoint for a long time without luck. I've taken to using an external USB mouse part time to ease strain on my hand from using the trackpoint, but of course the mouse is not as convenient.dfumento wrote:I have my trackpoint on maximum speed, lightest "stiffness" yet it still is too stiff for me.
