R61 screen flash on/off problem

Hi everyone, I have an R61 that's about a year old. Every 10-15 mins, the screen blacks out for about 1 second and then comes right back on. Works fine otherwise. Sometimes it goes off and then on again right away, and sometimes it does it twice in a row. It doesn't do it at any specific times (ie. when you first turn it on), just completely random. It's running Windows XP.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Similar thing happened to me once (only on battery though) and it was faulty video drivers...

You can run Lenovo System Toolbox to test various hardware parts... Maybe that will give you more info on the problem...

In my case, it happens with the battery power and when it's plugged in. I tried the toolbox, but it told me everything was functioning properly.

Yes, i also find some toolbox test to be useless...

Did you change video drivers lately? Try the ones from Lenovo drivers page (that helped me, although i didn't have problems when plugged in)...
