Unsupported wireless cards?

I'm looking to get a wireless card so I don't need an external for OSX, but I don't know what will work. Does anyone know if the t400 uses a wireless card whitelist, and if older cards are included on the whitelist (can I use a t6x card in it?) Wasn't it offered with a card that would work, and if so, what was that card? THANKS!
