I am about to take the plunge and upgrade to a 125Gig ZIF hard drive and reinstall XP on my X41 Tablet. (great post on how to do this!) I read about how to create new install disks, but my laptop does not have and I386 folder, so I am not sure if Service Pack 3 made the old instructions invalid. Anyway, I am more comfortable with a soldering iron to modify the ZIF adaptor than I am trying to make the install disk and slipstream service packs 2 and 3.
Has anyone already created the install disks? I would prefer service pack 3, but 2 or even 1 would be okay! I have a valid licensed copy, so all I need is the software. If you have them, let me know how much you would want for them. You can PM me at SteveRakoczy@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Looking for Windows XP Tablet Edition Disks
Welcome to our Forum.
First to slipstreaming and/or Service Packs:
SP2 contains all of SP1, so you don't need to do SP1+SP2 but just SP2.
On top of that you do SP3.
To slipstream an SP, see e.g. http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
An easier way to transfer your data would be to get Acronis Trueimage V10 or higher.
It'll take an image of your current disk, which you can then 'restore' on your new HD.
You may want to get an external USB case to help you perform this feat.
Finally, if you create install disks, they will ONLY contain the bare OS the way it came from the factory.
If you use them, they would restore your laptop to ex-factory condition and you would lose all your personal data.
There is the Rescue & Recovery software, with which you can make full backups, but it's a lot less reliable than e.g. using the above Acronis program.
