X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
I'am trying to install Vista on my new Intel 80GB SSD.
Installation form the CD is working very fast and very well.
Booting to the SSD: No valid OS. If I let the Vista CD in the drive, then the x60s is booting.
Is there something special in the BIOS for the SSD? In the BIOS I can see the new SSD.
Thank's a lot for all your answers.

Re: X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
have you found a solution?
Re: X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
Just a thought: Once it happened to me that OS would not install correctly, because for some unknown to me reasons after the first reboot during the installation it rebooted right to the install media and didn´t continue the installation. In this case I would suggest you to check your BIOS settings for the boot order and also, if all should be right there, to remove the media manually at the point it is not anymore needed (well, you have to watch the installation process) to avoid possible install interruption.

Re: X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
It seems to bee NO solution.
The SSD is now back at the dealers's and they will send to me the 160GB from Intel.
Very crazy, but if I was putting some cold stuff on the TP the SSD was working very well till the TP warmed up.
We will see..
Any experince with the 160 GB SSD from Intel?
Best regards

Re: X60s &Intel 80GB SSD
Did you try installing some Linux just for the sake of try? It could be faulty Vista DVD (if you haven´t verified somehow before...) Or just a faulty SSD...
