Thinking of buying one new, could someone bench the HD for me and tell me manufacturer :-)

Thanks in advance

I believe that Lenovo uses either Hitachi or Seagate HDD.

I ordered my x200 from CDW, but didn't like the HD, so I bought a new one at the same time, and swapped it out before booting. I still have the original sitting on my desk, and it's a 5400rpm drive (I can't benchmark it, because it's not installed). The Lenovo part number is: 42T1088. It says Fujitsu in a couple of places, so I suppose it's made by them, which is surprising, because I thought they used Hitachi primarily. If I recall, when I was looking to build one, they also came with a 7200rpm 160GB drive.

Any particular reason you're seeking out the original? Just about any 2.5" drive will work AFAIK...

Mine x200s has 160GB/5400rpm FUJITSU HD originally.

Hope this help...
