Treo 700p or 700Wx?
Ive never owned a nice Palm phone, the only one i ever had was a treo 600.
Ive usually gone with PPC phones. but i am wondering if i should go with Palm OS for this round.

well the 700's are not made any longer, the newest Palm's are the 800W (windows). I own the Palm Treo 755p and I highly recommend the Palm OS over the WM6 ANY day. You can get some good prices on the 755's on ebay now. The 755's do everything the 700's did but are more stable and have no antennae.

I have not used a Centro, but that is a good choice too, it is the Palm OS. The screen is a tiny bit smaller than the 700 or 755 Palm's but it still has the superfast EVDO data that they both have and a good battery life. The only difference is the keyboard is a little more cramped than the other two Palm's, in case you have large hands.

I read that the Windows os for smart phones is outdated. Perhaps the PalmOS would be better. It would be nice if there were more phones with Android on them.

Treo 800. I love it.......IT is in the mold of the Centro but bigger. The centro was to tiny in my hand. I found I like Windows Mobile 6. vs Palms os. Much easier to multi-task

I'm late to the discussion, but I will always take a Windows device over a Palm device. Palm is very simple to use, which is also its curse. Windows is more powerful as far as integration, plus it sports a much smoother email client and browser.
Don't take this as a knock on your choice. If the Palm OS does what you need it to, all the better. Opinion wise, I'm not a Palm fan.
Android is growing on me more and more as I work with it, but the selection of devices is limited, obviously.

I am a heavy Win Mo user myself, I have owned a few of them and I think they are way better then Palms OS.
But unfortunately I couldnt stand the laggynes and the poor quality phone. the constant crashing. the sad thing is it happened out of the box.
Win Mo is my kind of OS because I love to tinker, but the overall quality ive found in smartphones makes me run away.
I like the palm because the sound quality is perfect, unlike my other phones which sounded like I was talking to a pilot over a poorly tuned ham radio with ear muffs on.
(I600-I730-HTC Apache are my other phones if you were wondering)
The os Is snappy I like it. and the Keyboard is to small for one handed typing, But is fine for two handed typing.
I got a skinning app for it and it looks like a more updated OS (which is sad cause i have a MAC OS 9 skin on it)
I love the fact that it's also not a huge brick... My I730 with the extended battery was horrible.
allthough most software is out dated and the newer stuff you have to pay for (and it aint cheap) theres still alot of software for you.
The only thing I miss is the Today screen... That was one of the biggest pluses over Palm OS that got me going.

my treo 755 doesn't look anything like when I took it out of the box. I skin it with zLauncher which is highly customizable. If you want a good Today screen, I use and highly suggest all of the programs on the shsh.com website. His 2Day program is excellent and integrates perfectly with your onboard Calendar program. I also use his 4Cast program which can autoupdate every 3 hours for weather in unlimited amounts of cities around the world, you can even use a plug-in for it on the 2Day screen so you always have current weather there. Lastly, I also use his TakephOne to replace the onboard phone app, it is awesome. And there are tons of free skins that work on all of these apps, or you can use your own photos as backgrounds.
