Started out as a T40 2373-19U , but replaced the MB (from a forum member) with another so it now reports as a 2373-R03. Added a Gig of RAM to get to 1.25GB. Replaced the HD (from a forum member) with a 100gb 7200 RPM one (formats to 89.7GB). Upgraded to a 1.7 Dothan CPU and added Arctic Silver paste, and replaced the fan with a new unit. Replaced the wireless card with a "a/b/g" one (from a forum member). Replaced the tired screen (14") with a nice SVGA one from a T41p (yep, forum member - thanks Schen), keyboard with a new one (yep, again).
All of this over the last two years.
Cosmetically it's maybe a 7-8. It's been used, taken apart and put back together maybe 7-8 times. Screen is great, kyb getting some shiny spots, stuff like that.
Works great. Has XP Pro COA but right now is running the WIN 7 beta just fine.
Comes with A/C adapter and dock.
I was thinking somewhere between $200 and $250 plus shipping. Am I in the ballpark?

Help with Pricing for Franken-Pad??

Re: Help with Pricing for Franken-Pad??
Price sounds about right - but folks would probably expect Win XP installed rather than a beta, which expires in a few months (though I'm not in the market for such a machine, so I my be completely off).
However, you may want to look into selling the HD separately (and put in the old one, if you still have it).

Yeah, I'm just playing with the beta, but the Win XP Pro COA is intact. I suppose I could put the smaller drive back in.

You're in the correct ballpark, and definitely sell the big drive separately...
The aforementioned machine with standard 40GB drive, and all your other upgrades should yield $200-225 shipped with no sweat...
Good luck.
