Just wondering what distro runs well on an X61s with Intel 4965agn wireless?

Harry
I take it Mint doesn't play well with the Intel wireless either.
I know you posted a link in another thread for compiling a driver.
But have you looked at this page?

Might be time for some live CD tests.

I posted in your Suse thread .

Doog, I haven't tried Mint on this X61s, but it is on the list. I like Mint for many reasons. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Frankly, I've been lazy with this problem to date due to workload, but if I have to crawl over to the developers I will. ;)

I tried the Linux Mint 6.0 Live Cd, and the same problem occurs. It does also have the iwlagn driver. So I dug out my old Linux Mint 5.0 Live CD and it worked fine. It has the iwl4965 driver. So I installed Mint 5.0. The only problem with this old driver is that the top speed is 60Mbps, wpa2, on a Wireless N router. So I am stuck with not being able to use my new N router to it's full potential. Way to go Intel. I can't believe that more Thinkpadders aren't complaining about the iwlagn driver issues. The 4965agn is a very popular adapter. Maybe there's not many Linux folks here.

rgds,
Does your machine have the Intel 4965agn adapter?

Harry
It looks like PCLOS is getting ready to do a major update next weekend.

On post # 22 in that link it states......because I rebuilt the entire wireless stack on the new kernel to support the newest cards. Except for the kernel we would have been good to go.

So this might be something to check out. I know 2009 has been a long time coming. So maybe wireless will work.
