backup disks

#1 Post by henrym » Fri Jan 23, 2009 7:47 pm

Hello
My X61 from an authorized dealer just arrived. It did not come with any backup disks for the programs installed. Is this a common practice? If so how do I reinstall a program if I need to?
Thanks
Henry

Did it come with a CD or DVD drive? Well, in any case, there should be some written material called "Service and Troubleshooting Guide" in the box in which your Thinkpad arrived. It contains a section on "Recovery options". Alternatively, press the blue ThinkVantage button and you may find an option to burn recovery CDs/DVDs, if your system came with a CD/DVD writer.

Thank you. It did come with that booklet and I have a separate DVD/CD drive.
