Product: ThinkPad T60p 2007-WMJ
Original description: Based on 2007-CTO: T2500(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 15in 1600x1200 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5200, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Product: ThinkPad T60p 2007-93U
Original description: T2600(2.16GHz), 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 15in 1600x1200 LCD, 256MB ATI FireGL V5200, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint reader, 9c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

Other than the core difference, I can't figure out why I can not duplicate the exact working condition as yours.

I have a little trouble reading your message, you are apparently a problem with the standby.
This is probably because you do not delete the file - AppleLPC.kext in /System/Library/Extenssions

you mentioned that you have a video of IPC
upgarde wrote: On a 10.5.6 update, I urge you the latest IPC 10.5.6, which is simply fabulous.
...
If you wish, I can also get a video for the IPC 10.5.6
or if possible, can you list what you had selected during the initial install.

I did remove the AppleLPC.kext, but when it tires to go into sleep mode, the laptop would freeze with a blank screen. The sleep indicator was not lit up and I would have to hold the power button down to turn off the laptop.

What distribution did you install? Have the pack that I provided, it is necessary that the PC reboots at least once because after, the very important files from the pack here.

IPC 10.5.6 and I used the files that you linked me to.

Well, after reinstall over and over.. got it to sleep.. but now it won't wake properly. I think I'll just give up on the sleep part.

Verify that the file does not contain AppleACPIPlatform.kext ... AppleLPC.Kext

IPC 10.5.6 on your AppleACPIPlatform.kext must have version 1.2.4

To circumvent the absence of synaptic in firefox, it is possible to use this extension (Grab and Drag) : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1250

upgarde, your video is helpful and the files as well but i have a question for you: i have a t60p with the v5250 ati video (1680x1050) and everything i've tried has not worked, i'm still in software mode and even though i've set "Graphics Mode" to "1680x1050x32" in 'com.apple.Boot.plist' it only actually gives me 1400x1050 software mode(no QE)... i will tell you that when i installed iPC 10.5.6 i selected no graphics drivers at all(since when i was selecting 'ATIRadeonX1000 series' i was getting black screens)... so i guess i'm just using vesa graphics..

for my iPC installation all that i've selected is: 1) PS/2 mouse fix (i have a mouse plugged in) 2) Audio-> ADxxxx (all of them, audio works) 3) Powermanagement

what should I be installing to get my v5250 at 1680x1050 working?

your video was good but i haven't read much about this part of the installation, which drivers are selected etc..

thanks in advance,
buck

Ok, With an editor (nano), edit the file info.plist in the pack ATIRadeonX1000.kext so that it resembles

<key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x71D41002</string>

on file ATIRadeonX1000GA.plugin in info.plist

<dict>
<key>ACCF0000-0000-0000-0000-000a2789904e</key>
<array>
<string>100271D4-0000-0000-0000-000a27898d3e</string>
</array>
</dict>

on file ATIinject.kext in info.plist

<key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x71D41002</string>

Keep me posted!

kernel panic for example may occur if you modify kext files from a différent version.
file *. kext ati are almost specific to the version of OSX.
Therefore made sure to modify the kext file on your hard drive.
Also, feel free to start with a flag /f it can still be used!

when I install iPC 10.5.6 should i install the ATI X1000 series ? and also NATIT? i notice that even if i don't select these that they seem to be present in /System/Library/Extensions anyway...

you've been really helpful, thanks

I never install the specific drivers from the distribution, I always left the default settings.
You can use my package and IPC 10.5.6 Produc simply change your ID and it should work!

almost got this working semi perfectly...

I have been trying to figure out this ATIinject file which I'm guessing is the cause of these bad displays

Start up: I still have to reboot over and over until it shows a screen without any error
Most of the bootup woud look like this
Image

Sleep would wakes up like this
Image

For sleep wake up, even though I can still move the mouse cursor around, I can not click on anything. I'm force to hold the power button down to power off

btw thanks again for the help. the wifi card works great! I dont need to carry a wifi pcmcia card anymore

I do not now if your video configuration is stable or not?
In atinject, there may also be a string to change:
but I do not know or find out this string :-(

<data>
AP /////// wAwrkZAAAAAAAAPAQOAHhZ46r0wkVRPiyYh
UFQhCACBgKlAAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBSD9AMGKwMkBAwBMA
MOQQAAAZvDRAMGKwMkBAwBMAMOQQAAAZAAAADwCpQzKp
QygUAgAJ5QAAAAAA/gBIVjE1MFVYMS0xMDAKAKc =
</ Data>
<key> LVDS, EDID </ key>
<data>
AP /////// wAwrkZAAAAAAAAPAQOAHhZ46r0wkVRPiyYh
UFQhCACBgKlAAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBSD9AMGKwMkBAwBMA
MOQQAAAZvDRAMGKwMkBAwBMAMOQQAAAZAAAADwCpQzKp
QygUAgAJ5QAAAAAA/gBIVjE1MFVYMS0xMDAKAKc =
</ Data>

It seems to me that your problem come from sleep mode video driver.

upgarde, when i use your pack for ipc 10.5.6 and change IOPCIMatch for my v5250(id-> 0x71D41002) i get a kernel panic... the closest i got was using the ATIinject.kext from 'finetuned', his pack is for a different version os x i think but it did give me the native 1680x1050x32 but with no QE/CI, now i'm stumped... i want that QE

 I actually think that your problems come from atinject!
however, the atiinject is a "gas plant"! should you find a specialist in this kext is made quite specifically for Hackintosh.
sorry can not do better for you! or come to France and try to twist it to PC!

To solve the problem of the ethernet card off-line
Inelegant solution because of the password is in rc.file in "clear" waiting for something better
Bucky this should work for you ;-)

start the terminal
sudo-s + (password root)

nano /etc/rc.common

the end of the file must match this:

##########################################################################
## Force the DHCP request for the network adapters that appear off-line but which are not ##
################################################## #######################

echo "yourrootpassword" | sudo-S ipconfig set en0 NONE
sudo ipconfig set en0 DHCP

##########################
# # Get host configuration
##########################
. /etc/hostconfig

After inserting this bloc :

type ctrl-x + Y + enter
type reboot + enter

I'm so close with my Thinkpad T60p-8743cto w/ IPC 10.5.6. I now have 1680x1050x32 with QE/QI, etc. works great. I couldn't get the machine to sleep or report my ram properly, so used the AppleSMBIOS.kext from upgarde. Now the machine can sleep, but won't wake up. I have a FireGL 5250 as well, so I don't think the ATIinject/ATI drivers from upgarde will work with my thinkpad...

I have a build with 10.5.4 working perfectly - this is frustrating - the last thing I really need is sleep mode wakeup...

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

EDIT: OK - i tweaked the Info.plist files in ATIinject.kext and ATINDRV.kext to use 71d4 and installed those (doing ATIRadeonX1000.kext caused a kernel panic). Now sleep works and wakes up ok! I think i may have a fully working stable 10.5.6... at least as stable as my 10.5.4 install!

Fixed the ethernet card that appears off-line, this kext is compatible OSX 10.5.7 and unlike the other version is also compatible with Time Machine. Use Kext Helper B7 to Install.

http://dl.free.fr/oQizGcUSB

If you add the following lines to force the DHCP request in your rc.common, removed them, because they were a security hole:

echo "yourrootpassword" | sudo-S ipconfig set en0 NONE
sudo ipconfig set en0 DHCP

In terminal mode
sudo -s (enter your password)
nano /etc/rc.common
find the strings and destroy ...

Here are the kexts compatible upgrade to 10.5.7.
(I note that a version of OSX 10.6 is scheduled for June ...)

http://dl.free.fr/lDWi9kdqG

Procedure.

1: Install Pack Apple update 10.5.7
2: Restart the forced update.
3: You'll probably crash at the second boot.
4: The third is the right boot.

5: With kext helper B7, install the package if kexts attached.

Attention, I did not test version on my OSX 10.5.6 in prod, only a blank IPC 10.5.6

I keep the default Kernel default IPC 10.5.6 that is probably not compatible with CoolBook.

**** WARNING ****, do not test on OSX in prod if you're not absolutely certain to have a Time Machine up to date.

I made a clone of my HD, booted and upgraded from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7. I'm not sure the 10.5.7 installation ever finished completely, it just rebooted at some point. I tried rebooting a few times, but no luck - kept getting kernel panic. Rebooting to safe mode worked.

I then installed the video kexts using kext helper and rebooted... no luck. Things got even worse when I included ALL of the 10.5.7 kexts - couldn't boot at all, even in safe mode. Hmmm...

Glad I did this on a backup drive :)

Anyone running 10.5.7 on a T60p w/ firegl 5250?

Hello to all, good news, the T60p works fine in 10.5.8 ;-)

I had not updated my system to 10.5.7 and when I saw the bundle 10.5.8, I did not hesitate ... Time with my machine up to date, I make an update to tears! And after some small problems with a single kernel panic, everything is back in order!

Tomorrow, I'll post the packets and the kernel. Very good news, we take a 9.8.0 kernel, the system is faster (3 to 4 %)... Now you can launch the Iphone SDK :-)

Big tested applications, Fusion, iTunes, Office Entourage and Light Room!
