Enabling Integrated Graphics Card on T60p with ATI Card

#1 Post by ennma » Sat Jan 24, 2009 6:09 am

Hi ,
Just wondering if I can do this or not, if it is possible then it would solve my current temp problem.
I ran Intel Chipset Indentification Utility and it shows Integrated Graphics Card : Not detected or disabled.
I am hoping I can disable it. and switch between graphics adapter.

TIA

Hi,
It is not possible, because the Intel 945 chipset in the T60/p is of the 945PM if the T60/p has a discrete graphics card from ATI already. The chipset which features integrated video is 945GM and is also seen on some T60 models (those advertised as having GMA950).
It is simply not put into the 945PM because the PM is marked as the "performance model", where one would use a faster, discrete graphics card, while the GM is marked as "mainstream chipset", where one would definitely use the integrated video. :)

Nooooo, Just when I thought I am out , they pull me back in. :) thanks for the info,
but one funny thing is.
1.) in system properties , hidden devices showed there is one AGP
intel 82845 Processor to AGP Controller-1A31
doesn't this mean there is a integrated graphics card?

thanks
