How do I find my wireless network adapter model #?
How do I find my wireless network adapter model #?
I have a T60 running Vista (32bit), and I've been getting a lot of BSODs lately. I've been researching the problem, and it looks like I should get the latest driver for my 11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter. I found a site with Atheros drivers but there are a ton of different model numbers. I've looked through all the information for the adapter in the device manager, but I can't find a model number anywhere. Does anyone know how I can find this information?

You should be able to find it it on your receipt sent to your email if you bought your T60 from lenovo online.bob622 wrote:I have a T60 running Vista (32bit), and I've been getting a lot of BSODs lately. If not, you know the laptop and what model of the T60 you have. For example, I have a T61p 6459CTO. You could search online and find the model of your atheros card that way.

Through device manager, I find that I have an Intel Pro 3945ABG card. I know that's all I need to find the driver.

Re: How do I find my wireless network adapter model #?
Thanks for the help guys. But apparently I didn't need to know the model number after all!
Turns out, I only thought I needed to know it because the layout of that site (atheros.cz) is unnecessarily complicated. The links for the different model numbers take you to different pages, so I assumed the drivers were model-specific. By looking at the source code of the download pages, though, I discovered that for a particular operating system, all of the different model numbers linked to the same driver.
I've been successfully using my new router for about 9 hours since I installed the latest driver, so things are looking pretty good (I was getting 4-5 bluescreens in a single day before, thanks to the problematic athr.sys driver). Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that this problem doesn't resurface.
