I believe express program is something that IBM keep in stock, so you don't have to wait weeks before you get your NB...

Frank,

No, there is no difference, assuming you are looking at identically configured systems. The Express Program models are cheaper because they are already pre-built.

okay - thanks. that sounds good if there is no diffrence. i thougt there is may be a diffrent in warrenty or when you buy it.. or whatever...

but "my" model 2379R9U "express modell" - is not in stock :-(
or is the website not up to date?

i think this is one of the best and cheapest models you can get at the moment or do you have any other ideas?

thanks a lot.

I have the 2379R9U, yes it is teriffic with a great configuration. I don't see how the "express" models are really express, usually they are listed with at least a 2 week shipping time. I waited over a month for my R9U but it is worth the wait.

thanks.

somewhere i read that you are happy with it but you have some problems or? was it the display what is a littel bit to slow? or what does you dont like on it?

and how is the fan? i had the 2373N3U before (like the same than the R9U) and it was a littel bit nosy...

and what do you pay for it? is there a chance to get it a littel bit cheaper or from bill...?

It wasn't me, no problems with mine, it's been perfect from day one. The display is fantastic and the hard drive is whisper quiet, as a matter of fact I used to have an A20p and it's hard drive used to make a clicking noise every so often but the 60gb 7200rpm hard drive in my T42 is so quiet I don't hear it at all!

okay - nice to here.

i had the same 60 GB with 7200 in my N3U. it was not loud but i heard it... well... but how is the fan because this was louder (quit the same) than the HDD and worked all the time!!!

but i heard that if you scroll fast the display is a littel bit too slow. i dident test this on my one. i had to send it back after a day because i had a lot of dead pixel.

No problem with the display, I don't get any ghosting that I can see and there is no lag. It's just great, so clear, bright and sharp!
