Perhaps you should give the FRU of this drive, because if it is a genuine IBM-part, then I guess it would also be usable in T43's, which as we know suffer from the "2010"-error, as e.g. discussed in the T4x-sticky Problems with non-ThinkPad option drives on T43 ThinkPads. If this is however not an IBM-labeled part, it may (or may not?) be usable in T43's, by flashing it with IBM-firmware, and as e.g discussed in the above-mentioned sticky or in the threads T40, T41, T42 or T43? Which to buy? amongst other things saying:

The thread I mentioned above has directions for flashing the OEM drive with IBM firmware. People have had mixed results, I was actually successful at flashing my OEM HTS721010G9AT00 (a Hitachi 7K100 100GB 7200rpm PATA drive)

Also see the thead Anybody solved the 2010 error on T43 2668? and this post. I am using Hitachi 7k100 drives in several T42/p's and I am very satisfied.. fast, cool and very quiet (after enabling the "AAM" through the Hitachi Feature Tool.

PS: I believe this post was meant to be in the Marketplace and not in the T4x-forum...
