GPS Enabler Issues SOLVED

#1 Post by FMFDoc » Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:08 pm

Hello All,

First, although this is my first post, I've been reading here for a while and I must say this site has been an invaluable resource. Alas, I've finally encountered my first issue I was unable to resolve with a search on the forums.

Currently own an X200 that I've done a clean install of XP using Arkis' excellent guide on the notebookreview.com (A thorough and highly recommended guide). All has gone well except for the fact that I cannot get Thinkvantage GPS to function. It loads but nothing else happens. Pressing the Start button does nothing, nor can I even access the Application or Help buttons. It just sits there.

I have downloaded and installed the Qualcomm driver for the VZ WWAN card and the card is active and functioning (I travel and need the EVDO service). I even downloaded and activated via the Thinkpad Mobile Broadband Connect software. I've already checked to ensure that I have the most up to date drivers. All to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The issue has been solved. It appears that msvcp71.dll, which was not installed on my system, was necessary for GPS tp function. After downloading the .dll all is working fine now.

Hope this helps somebody else.
