Installing Mepis to Thinkpad T500 model 2243-4EG


What should I consider, before installing Linux to this laptop?

I want to have a dual booting system XP and Mepis, Thinkpads recovery partition working with the thinkvantage button after the installation of Mepis.
Is this doable?

What steps and in which order should I do?

I have 2 partitions in my hard drive currently c: and the hidden Service Partition.

Read this guideline here. It should give you a good idea what you need to do.
But just be sure you don't format the hidden or windows partition. I would think Mepis would see them.
But be careful!!
