Compact Flash and PCMCIA slot problems...

#1 Post by Saysana13B » Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:17 pm

I have a D-link card in the PCMCIA slot.

Everytime that I put in a CF card into the CF slot, my PCMCIA slot OR card disconnects, it totally shuts off leaving me disconnected to the internet.

Is this an isolated thing, or have some members come across this before?

Its probably a physical thing and probably can't be fixed by myself, unless I open my machine up?

Any thoughts?

what OS are you using? I don't have any ideas, but this could help some of the other members to diagnose this.
are you using the latest drivers? I would probably reinstall drivers if I was having this issue. if it isn't a driver issue, or a common OS bug, it's likely a hardware issue.

It has Xp Pro SP3 (or whatever the newest one is, never updated since summer of 08 when I got it).

I will definitely try to update the drivers and stuff this weekend. Probably won't get to is til Sunday.

I'll update then, thanks for the reply!

I couldn't find a driver.

I'll leave it for now. I mean eventually I'll come across it but its not an immediate problem.

did you try lenovo's site for drivers?
they tend to have a pretty comprehensive collection of them uploaded
