Complete Thinkpad 560x with accessories

I am offering a complete IBM Thinkpad 560X here before I offer it on eBay.

My company purchased this for my boss in 1998, and then I purchased it from the company as part of a retired hardware program. It is well-traveled, but has been treated kindly, and has been a respectable little machine. I've made the transition to Mac and don't need it for travel anymore.

All items are in used, good or very good condition unless otherwise noted. A complete system report and chkdsk report in txt format are available. You are responsible for checking for parts compatibility, I have included part numbers or model numbers where I could find them. • Body - The case is in very good condition with the usual mild scuffs you'd expect from a decade of use. 12" screen (diagonal measurement) in great condition. Keyboard in good shape too although the red IBM pointer nubbin is dry and hard from age. The R key sticks sometimes.
• RAM - 96 KB RAM, the maximum for this motherboard. BIOS was flashed with latest version and in-depth memory checks all OK at time of O/S reinstall in 12/2007.
• Hard drive - 6 GB. in 1 partition.
• Ports - the usual including one (1) USB port. If you're reading this, you already know what a Thinkpad 560X is and what it's got, but see the pictures, or ask if you have any questions.
• Price and Operating system - you've got some options.
• $200 with new (11/2007), legitimate, activated, Windows XP Home with SP2 installed, with original CD, packaging and activation code. In my opinion, the 560X is MUCH happier running Win98 but of course it's a tradeoff with other capabilities.
• $160 without WinXP, so you can install your own O/S. I have a sealed, authentic copy of Win95 available if you want it (came with laptop but our IT dept. put Win98 on it instead at the time).
• Software - if you choose option 1, the Dynex wireless card driver is installed, no other software.

Accessories

• Port replicator, the enhanced one that takes a couple of weird storage drives in an extra drive bay on top. P/N 11J8998, FRU P/N 11J9000
• An external CD-ROM drive (refurbished, paid $116 some years ago), type/model 1969-010, P/N 03L3051, FRU P/N 03L3080. Power options are 6 AA batteries or a 120V adapter. Complete with two power adapters, PCM-CIA IDE PC card and cable.
• One external 3.5" floppy drive IBM part # 10H3980, FRU P/N 10H4056 with connector cable (came with computer)
• One external 3.5" floppy drive FRU P/N 05K2643, ASM P/N 05K8805 (scrounged from somewhere, has same connector as the other). I believe the 3.5" drive bay section can be swapped out with a CD-ROM drive bay but have never used it.
• Five 120V power adapters.
• Original IBM factory system recovery CD and boot disk; Original factory documentation (catalog, user's guide, up & running guide, etc.)
• Dynex wireless G notebook card (have been using this to connect to internet, works great)
• PCM-CIA IBM EtherJet PC card (p/n 72 (H or M) 4041, FRU 72 (H or M) 5163) with long cord and network jack
• PCM-CIA Belkin 16-bit notebook network card (F5D5020) with dongle, installation CD and manual
• An extra PCM-CIA IDE PC Card P/N 00K1084, FRU P/N 00K1123
• A 3Com modem cable (says EtherLink III LAN+33.6 modem PC card) that I've never used; the connector is damaged but it might still work.
• Another 3Com network cable with a 3Com connector on one end of a long cord and a network jack on the other end (never used)
• An extra Li-Ion battery in addition to the one that's inside the Thinkpad now. One of these batteries doesn't seem to hold a charge but I don't remember which, I've always run this machine plugged in.
• A ridiculous fabric kitty-cat case from the craft store.

Logistics

• Shipping from 85706 (Tucson, AZ)
• Weight - box with everything in it weighs about 25 lbs. I would pack it in a few smaller boxes.
• Shipping options available -- I use UPS and USPS most often, but can ship just about any way except carrier pigeon. Buyer pays shipping.
• Payment options include check (must clear before shipping), PayPal, or credit card through PayPal request (if you don't have a PayPal account).
