Update windows XP in X60s is very long..!

hi advance,
I am newbie in IBM notebook. Last week i try to update my notebook X60s to XP SP3, it needed one days but not success yet. This day i try to update with IBM file in http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-68974. I install this file and then my pc restart. and show to me installing update. Unfortunately...this result need long time too. Any body can help me to solve it ?

How did you try to install SP3? Did you download the whole pack manually or did you try to install it via Windows Update? If you use Windows Update, it should tell you if SP3 can install on your machine or not, because it checks for SP3-incompatible drivers installed on your system. This way you can find out if you need to update some driver.On the other hand, your problem might be the Windows Update itself. Many folks reported problems installing SP3 via Windows Update, whereas a manual install of SP3 went flawlessly.
