T500 Wireless Power Management

#1 Post by chocorem » Sun Feb 01, 2009 11:13 am

Hello,

I just bought a T500 with Windows XP SP3 and I have some trouble with my wireless connection. The network stays connected as long as I surf without any problems. but after some minutes of inactivity, the laptop disconect and the only way to re-connect it is to do a connection Repair.

I tried unistalling Acces Manager, put the maximal performance in the driver of the wireless card, but no luck !!!

Thanks in advance

Regarding wifi power settings, a short summary of everything you may want or have to check out:
1. (probably) Lenovo Access Connections
2. Lenovo Power Manager Scheme, check advanced settings. If you don´t like the default profiles, create your own (I always do that)
3. Control Center -> Power Settings -> Advanced Power Settings -> Power Saving Mode (not sure if this is the right path in XP, but it should be something similar to that)
4. Device Manager -> Network Devices -> your wifi card -> Power Management

2-4 are the ones that most probably apply to your problem.

Hope this helps
