Missing Rescue & Recovery Startup Disk

#1 Post by kberry72 » Sun Feb 01, 2009 6:24 pm

It would seem that my hard drive has decided not to boot any longer. So far I have used Rescue & Recovery to backup my files. When I upgraded my hard drive a year ago I apparently did not setup the backup partition. I do have a set of 6 Product Recovery CD's however I can not find the Startup Disk. Is there anyway to recreate this cd? Any suggestions on what I can do now? I would like to try and reinstall Vista on my current hard drive to make sure it will not work (though I will probably just buy another one tomorrow). Thanks!

Just Google "Vista Recovery CD". There's an available 120 MB bootable download that needs an ISO burn that can be used for a "repair". It won't install but might likely repair. I've never needed or investigated the "tool" but recalled hearing it mentioned previously.
