Extremely poor keyboard quality and refusal of warantee

#1 Post by u110 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 9:11 am

I purchased a Lenovo u110 computer in early January 2009. After about 3 weeks of very light use, three of the six keys in the lower right corner broke (Pgdn, Pgup and right arrow). Lenovo's service and customer departments insisted that the breakage is due to misuse and hence not covered by wanrantee.

Over the years, I have bought various models of Thinkpads and been very happy about them. I do not think that my style of using the computer has changed, except that I have become lower with age. Since this is the first time I purchased the Lenovo brand of computer, I am suspecting that the Lenovo brand of computers is off much lower quality than Thinkpads. I am not able to comment on repair services since I have never in need of such for my Thinkpads.

Does anybody have any experiences similar to mine with respect to Lenovo computers?
