Wireless light not illuminating

X31 - wireless works fine, but light doesn't illuminate

I have a very different model and different OS from yours, so I´m not really sure if my experience is somehow related to your problem: Under Vista x64 I was never able to make the wifi light illuminate with an Atheros abg wifi card even though the card was able to establish connections without problem. So, you may try another version of the driver for your wifi card (for example, look if there are some driver updates available for your model).

maybe someone used the Thinkpad wireless hack/bootdisk in the past (if you got it used). I don't know if the making the wireless light not work effect is reversible.

I need to take a look at the card. It was a weird name IIRC.

that would make sense. only the name-brand cards work in the X31.

It says Inprocomm on the chip. USI BM6621R4 on the circuit board. Just put a 2100 in and Win 7 couldn't find the drivers,then crashed...

Intel Pro 2100 in and wireless indicator works as it should.

Just got the X31 Saturday and it came with that Inprocomm? USI? card installed.
