LF: X61 Tablet RAM and External DVD drive
I'm going to need a couple Gigs of RAM for my new tablet that's coming in the mail, and I'm hoping someone here will have an extra module or two that they'll sell to me cheap. (Or know where to get it cheap.)
Also looking for an external bus-powered DVD drive.
Thanks!

Bump. Bought the RAM, looking for an external DVD drive. I can get one for $66 on ebay, so that's a good price reference...

Get this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-Thinkpad-DVD-RO ... .m20.l1116
and this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0089420633
and you pay less than $50. (disclaimer, I'm neither affiliated with nor endorsing either auction).
Even cheaper, if the drives here are still available.

Re: LF: X61 Tablet RAM and External DVD drive
Hmm, it's a nitpick, but I'm looking for something a bit neater than that. All of my computing career has been riddled with cobbled-together frankensteins, which is fine and fun in a way. But with the X61 I'm going all out "normal".
Thanks though.

Re: LF: X61 Tablet RAM and External DVD drive
Understood. One advantage of going with a genuine IBM/Lenovo drive now is that it will fit in nicely into a X61t base later (should you ever decide to buy one).

Yes, I thought about that... I would likely be buying one of those instead if I were able to.
