FS: T-42 with flexview

#1 Post by house kitten » Wed Feb 04, 2009 3:33 pm

I have decided that I wish to part with my beloved T42 with Flexview (SXGA + IPS, 64MB ATI Radeon 9600 series graphics). Capable of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It is a Pentium M 1.8 GHz with 1.5 GB ram and a new 100 GB Seagate HD. The battery is 9 cell and holds a charge for about 1.5 hours (using 100% wireless) but usually indicates it only has about an hour. The CD-RW is by Matshita. There is no warranty. The screen looks flawless to me and the laptop itself is in great condition with the only problem is the missing mac address sticker on the bottom. I love this thing but it is time to move on.

I am asking $400 plus shipping. Model 2378-EYU

Can you post the model number? (2373-xxx, or whatever)

Thanks!

According to IBM's specifications for T42 model 2378-EYU it there says:
Product:ThinkPad T42 2378-EYU

Original description: Customer configured(RAM, HDD, Ultrabay, Battery, Preload): PM 745, 15 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD, 64MB ATI Radeon 9600, Wireless upgradeable(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip
Question: Does this mean that your T42 does not have built-in WLAN?

It does have Intel wireless built in 2200 B/G (I believe). I didn't list it because I assumed it was standard.

I believe so........check some of the Ebay prices....especially with no warranty...also a link for some pictures would help to sell the laptop....people like to see what they buy....

Good luck,

Just thought I would note the specs on this lappy

XP Home
1.80 Ghz Pentium Processor
1.5 Gb ram
100 Seagate 7200 RPM Hard Drive
9 Cell battery (I still get about 1.5 hours on battery)
ATI Mobility Radeon Series Video Card
Matshita DVD/CD-RW
IBM Thinkpad Infared Port
IBM Thinkpadpad IPS 1400x1050 LCD
Intel Pro/1000 MT Mobile Connection
56K Modem
Intel Pro Woreless 2200BG Network Connection
Texas Instruments Cardbus Controller
S Video Port, 2 USB, etc...
No remaining warranty

No dead pixels and I have verified this but doing a display test. MAC address is peeled off the bottom but I still have it.

I would double check this, as it may be a typo. T42 had a 400 MHz FSB, so it would be 1.8. The 1.86 is from a 533 MHz FSB like a T43.

If someone thinks it is worth less, please feel free to make me an offer. I will consider it.

9 Months later, still no interest, still asking the same old (high) price.
Shouldn't that tell you something?

you sure do like to stick your nose in where it may not be welcome old chap. People can charge what they want and as far as I know there is no rule on keeping your post active here.

This is what is known as thread crapping. Use to delete this crap. But you know that right, - not a question.
