That´s from the plastic flex. My Z61p also makes this sound when I press my display from above at a few places...
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

Not to my knowledge. Even if it exists, it would involve modifying pretty much of the inner of the display, which is quite a hard job and will anyway void your warranty.

Yet, I believe there is something more to that flex, namely if some force is exerted on the Thinkpad from above, this structure by its design spread out that force all over the display up to its boundaries (where it firmly meets the laptop body) and thus minimizes the force in the particular point. This way it is supposed to prevent breaking the display. However, judging by the video I´m not able to tell to what an extent this flex is a design intention or a design flaw.
