Anyone know if any of the following is an ultralight screen?
12.1" XGA STD (1024 X 768)
Part No.(of the thinkpad) 766634U
2.1" WXGA (1280 X 800), W/ Camera
Part No. (of the thinkpad) 766LVB1D1B or 766LVB1F83
I’m trying to make sure that the X61s I get has a screen that is brighter (180nit) than the screen on the X61. Definitely want to avoid the 150 nit screens typical of the X61.
But I cannot simply tell by the screen description or product number from Lenovo’s Outlet.
My assumption is that non-ultralight X61s screens are at the same level of brightness as the screens on the X61.
I have done tons of searches on this website and on google, but to no avail. Have even downloaded and viewed the hardware maintenance manual for the X series, but I can’t seem to find the information.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
How to tell if an X61s has an Ultralight Screen?
Re: How to tell if an X61s has an Ultralight Screen?
The screens you mentioned are NOT UltraLight, and your assumption is correct because the non-UL screens on the X61s machines are the same screens as on the X61 machines.pegleg81 wrote:Anyone know if any of the following is an ultralight screen? ... Thanks. I actually ordered and received an X61 and I am about to RMA it. I also just cancelled my order for an X61s I placed a couple of days ago.
Lenovo outlet is probably blacklisting me by now, but I really want the UL screen.
One thing that I didn’t like about the X61 non-UL screen is that the blacks, e.g., the text on a webpage, seemed to be more grayish than on my six year old T40! It looked like as if the brightness on the X61 was set too high and the text looked washed out. Lowering the brightness didn’t help, either.
I know that there is another thread about using color correction software or something, but man, can’t we just plug and play? My ole IBM T40 was plug and play….
