Need help with BIOS update on A21E

#1 Post by lswone » Fri Jan 21, 2005 9:34 pm

I am having trouble with updating the bios on the A21E I have. I have downloaded the latest version and the readme file onto a floppy. I made sure the disk is wright protected, battery fully charged, and AC adaptor plugged in. I have set tne thinkpad to boot from floppy first.

When the machine attempts to read the floppy, nothing happens. The screen goes black and all I see is the flashing cursor at the top left. I searched the IBM websight for further instructions, and I also searched theese forums for further help.

I would apreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

If you boot into windows can you read the data on the floppy?

Just curious to see if the drive is working properly..

Thanks you for your help AbsoluteRaleigh. The issue has been solved. I guess I needed to re-seat the CPU. Since this action, the floppy was able to read the disk. Thanks again for your reply.
