Last Good Sale on X61s at $749

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/cont ... 089EF892A3

And an additional 23% off with coupon: USPX61S1000

$749 for one of the last great X6 series. I paid a lot more for my X61 last year but wouldn't trade it for anything. I LOVE the 12 inch full size 4:3 screen for everyday computing. 16:9 wide screens are the vast majority today. And in the smaller screen size they just are't as "viewable" as the old standard 4:3. YMMV

When will we get another 50% off? I just feel $749 is too high for a laptop.

When will we ever get an ultralight screen option again :(

The 50 percent off broke my heart because it was also the last time the ultralight was available.

750 dollars is a steal for a good laptop, I dont know what you are comparing these things too. Sure you can get a 550 dollar walmart laptop but those things have something like an 80 percent fail rate at 1 year from purchase date.

I wish lenovo had a higher end model than the thinkpad or maybe they could call it the true thinkpad. Apple's start at over 1000 dollars but their machines are grade A construction. Lets get some of that action over here.

X61 is one of my favorite models though. Nice small 4:3 screen..

Sorry to revive a really old thread, but I've been looking everywhere for a cheap good x61 tablet. I guess I really missed out on getting one of these for under $700? I mean, I agree at $750 even it would be a good deal, but under it would be even better. I've been a thinkpad whore ever since I got my X31 (non tablet) and Thinkpad USB keyboard for my desktop. I'd love to complete it with an X61.

Edit: oh... Do'H this is the s... not a tablet.

Try the Lenovo Outlet. They have X61 tablets in that price range.

Thanks for the quick reply. I visited there earlier. The cheapest so far was $729

While I'm at it when they say refurbished does that mean "apple ipod" refurbished quality or does that mean you don't know what you'll get refurbished quality?

Thanks.

The refurbs I have bought at the outlet look new, as in brand new out of the box.

Hmm... Ok, cool. Might be a stupid question, but is there ever discounts or sales for the outlet site? Also, does the price fluctuate alot?

I noticed that not all the x61 prices are the same even though the specs aren't that different?

Thanks again.

Sales...no. But the prices do fluctuate over time. You just need to keep checking back. The trick with the outlet though is to know the exact features that you are looking for and to jump on a deal as you find it because individual machines go fast. Here are some tips -

Ok, I think the only thing that's really important is a VGA screen and maybe if possible 4gbs of ram.

If I have to have Vista on it...

Just some advice about RAM for an X61T. It takes PC2-5300 which is VERY cheap to purchase separately. So don't let that be a determining factor in your choice.
