ericsson f3507g on an x61

#1 Post by xsit » Sat Feb 07, 2009 7:36 am

Hi there,

I hope the problem has been solved already. Maybe it is not a problem for you but here it is.

I own a x61 (7673-4NG). The device comes without the WWAN Antenna but the SIM-Slot is available.

I habe ordered one of these Ericsson f3507g cards which is not designed for the x61.

However.. I have manged to install the card by taping pin 20 and connected it to a Wlan Antenne (yes I know. It should be only a temporay solution). I still use the original lenovo bios because I have got no 1802 bios error or something. Then I have installed the drivers under windows xp which are basically designed for the newer laptop types.

In my device manger the device is displayed as an usb-device as an "ericsson f3507g mobile broadband minicard composite device" which can not be startet. It shown the yellow exclamation mark with error code 10.

Does someone has ideas how I can resolve the problem?

Is it possible that the antenna needs to get connected before the device is able to start? A Sim-card is already inserted but this does not make any differneces.

Any idea?

Thanks. Tried that already but for whatever reson the composite device can not be startet.

I still use the original x61 Bios. Maybe I need to update the Bios too.

i did. but others havent... and its working so i guess that shouldnt be the problem. have u deactivated the card once? i did and some parts of the cards were not shown as deactivated in device manager. i had to view hiddendevices too to reactivate. took me hours to find out.
if theres no problem try deinstalling all f3507g devices you can find (i have 8 devices at all: 2 in modem, 3 in network devices, 2 in ports and 1 in smart card readers) and reboot. make sure all drivers (use the links in the other thread) are installed before rebooting.

Thx Sportler but for whatever reason it does not work.

Can i ask you which version of XP you are using? Which language? Which .net Framework.. etc.

There must be a reason why it does not work. At the german thinkpad forum two other guys are facing the same issue.

Nobody knows why is that. Die Scheisse funzt einfach net.

Anyway.. Thanks for your efforts!

You got PM.

I also de-installed, re-installed... several times without any better result.

Also extraceted the drivers from the exe file this has not helped at all.
