Okay,
So when I attempt to open a file with the .XPS extension it opens in firefox, which prompts me with a dialog box to open or download the file. If I select open, it opens a new tab and presents me with the same dialog again.
I can open the file in IE.
I did download and install the .XPS viewer from Microsoft as listed here:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/xps/viewx ... X-cVqzz0jQ
After installing the software I still can't open the files! It's getting quite frustrating.
Any ideas?
I am running Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Office 2007 Pro SP1. Yes I legally own both.

Temetka:
I have the same software installation on my desktop PC. If I double-click on an XPS document it will open and display the document in Internet Explorer.
If I right-click on the XPS document and choose "Open With" and then choose "Firefox", I see the same behavior as you do. Firefox won't display the document directly but wants to open it in IE. I don't think Firefox can display XPS documents directly.
You can change the file association for XPS documents. Right-click on an XPS document and select "Choose Default Program" and then choose IE and select the checkbox "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".
Hope this helps...

Re: Problem with .XPS files and Vista Ultimate 32-Bit T60
I knew IE could open it. I was hoping to use a standalone viewer. However associating the .XPS file extension with is an acceptable solution for now.
