T30 LCD with vertical line

Hi folks,

4 days ago my t30 lcd got a beautiful cyan vertical line ... any sugestion to try fix it or will need a lcd replacement? there are any lcd for t30 with more than 1024x768 ?

The only 'fix' is to replace the LCD.
You can also get an SXGA+ screen for a T30 (1400x1050), but that requires a different LCD cable and inverter.

humm... can i use lcd from t40 ? is it compatible ?

Unfortunately not, only specific T30 LCDs will work.

Sounds like my T30! Besides 2 lines down the middle, the LCD on mine is still good, so I've just learned to live with it. I'll eventually replace the LCD when the screen totally kicks the bucket.

For future reference, what's a recommended site to get a new screen from?

Similar problem, but I believe mine was due to a mistake in ordering the part.

I just bought a P/N 11P8285 (sxga for a T30) and the one I was replacing was a P/N 11P8289 (xga for a T30). When I fired it up, it has about a 1 inch vertical white line.

According to RealBlackStuff above, this would need a different cable and inverter. I have all kinds of Thinkpad parts around here. Any help as to a different model inverter and / or cable that I could use?

Folks, please download the T30 Hardware Maintenance Manual from IBM/Lenovo.
In there it has all the part numbers, plus instructions on how to take the darned thing apart!
