What to buy? T60p, T400, IdeaPad...???

#1 Post by John H » Wed Feb 11, 2009 1:19 pm

I was cruising eBay looking for great used buys in maybe a t60p with FLEXVIEW and I got distracted to the thinkpads link to Lenova where there seem to be fabulous deals on (gasp!) NEW computers. Like the 16" T400, and this new Ideapad machine.

I don't know what to get.

I like a nice screen for watching TV and movies (like my widescreen T60), and sometimes I like a smaller lighter unit for portability (like my T40).

Any suggestions or helpful ideas?

600 - W2K

Tough to say unless one knows what exactly you're looking for...

T60p with IPS, if you can find it at reasonable price, is always a good idea.

If you need a powerhouse, and don't care too much about LCD quality, T400/500, R400/500 and W500 should all fit the bill...but these might get even cheaper as the time goes by.

As for a small machine...at its current price range, X60 is a tough one to beat...

My $0.02 only...
