Wireless Connection

Hi.
I' m not sure this is the right board for the question I' m going to ask.
If it' s so, forgive me.

I have a IBM ThinkPad R60e and a wireless modem but I don' t how to connect the computer to the modem, and especially how to activate the wireless of the computer.
Somebody can help me? Somebody can tell me what to do, please? ty

P.S. Sorry for my bad english, I' m Italian ^^
