Looking for T500 4GB RAM module. Is it DDR 1066 or 1067?

#1 Post by baertracks » Thu Feb 12, 2009 10:40 am

I'm shopping for a 4GB memory module for a T500 in order to increase my total RAM memory to 6 GB (using Vista Business 64).

Lenovo says that I need a module that is
4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM

Crucial (and other sources) describe this module as
204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-8500 DDR3-1066

1) Should I be concerned about the difference between the 1066 and 1067? Or, are they identical?

2) Does anyone have a recommendation for a good source for this size memory module?

Thanks,
FRANK

That's just a rounding error, it doesn't matter.

Thanks!
I guess I was a bit paranoid after hearing some horror stories about memory incompatibility.

Can just confirm this, I have 2 of them in my T500, works like charm. Although one module had to be replaced because it was faulty. (Produced all sorts of blue screens).
Replacement was no problem with crucial.

I heard of that being a problem with DDR3 on Mac's, but I didn't realize the T-series was having trouble with it as well.

It's actually 1066,66 MHz, so both 1066 and 1067 are incorrect :D

Have you ever noticed how bus speeds that are actually xx66.666... are always rounded down and displayed as xx66?

With the exception of the 666.666...MHz where it is always rounded up. No coincidence. :)
