Hello,
I've had my share of trouble with WinXPSP2 and trying to share WWAN over AdHoc wifi. If you use AccessConnections, it's best to kill them before trying.
Nevertheless, when your computer is connected to the internet, only this should be required:
1) have an AdHoc connection ("profile") created and set to auto-connect
2) in properties of the network interface (or dialup profile) check Share this internet connection and if required, select the Wifi interface from list below (if possible)
3) verify (or make it so) that the wifi interface has assigned static IP 192.168.0.1, mask 255.255.255.0 - if collision is reported, say that you really want it so, or alternatively remove the IP from any other NIC you find it defined in.
Now it should be possible to connect to that AdHoc network and access the internet. Not sure about Windows-integrated firewall, that shouldn't prevent it, but if you have any other firewall, then you need to check its settings.
