T42 fingerprint logon problem

#1 Post by dorronto » Thu Feb 12, 2009 5:16 pm

I just can't get the fingerprint logon screen to appear after I hibernate. It starts and goes right into windows. If I do a total shutdown, after windows loads, I get the fingerprint screen.

I want the fingerprint screen to be my power-on logon, no matter what. Instead of using a power-on password, I want to swipe my finger. That option is grayed out in the Control Center option. I can see it says to use fingerprint for windows logon, but it's grayed out. Help!

Thanks,
Ron

I believe there is such a setting in the fingerprint software. I would also check out the global power settings/advanced settings in Lenovo Power Manager (if I remember correctly, there is a setting under global power settings to use password after standby, this may apply to hibernation as well, I can´t say about the new versions of Lenovo Power Manager). Also, if you use CSS, I believe it also includes a related setting (sorry, I can´t point to the exact setting there as I don´t use CSS, but it shouldn´t be something hard to find).

Hope this helps

I think I fixed it. I downloaded the most current version of the Fingerprint driver. Now I get the option of Power on fingerprint password..... :D

We'll see...........

Thanks,
