W500 - Maximum RAM - 3rd Party RAM support

How much RAM does the W500 support (more than 4GB, e.g. 6GB, 8GB)?

Is the Patriot SO-DIMM Kit 4GB PC3-8500S CL7 (DDR3-1066) (PSD34G1066SK) RAM supported?

Yup, W500 can take 8 GB of RAM (and probably even more, if someone produce 8GB memory sticks)... And, yes, Patriot RAM you mention should work without problems, at least spec-wise.
