R50p Recovery CDs, anyone have them?

#1 Post by CP-Mike » Sat Jan 22, 2005 9:47 pm

I have a R50p (1832-23U) that my company saw fit to give me without the recovery CDs.. argh.. Our version of Nick Burns (SNL skit) won't cut me a break on them so I have to go my own way..

I looked around at IBM.com trying to find a way to either order or download them, but didn't have much luck.. I found the FRU #, but couldn't seem to pull it up to order.

Can someone point me in a good direction or let me d/l a ISO of yours?

Thanks!

Mike

Do it yourself with R&R

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.ws ... IGR-4Q2QAK

May be you should save your data and then press F11 for the original os.

I don't think that will work as my install is a base XP install on a formatted hard drive.. I never loaded beyond that as I didn't have the media for it..

I also need the copy of XP that is supposed to come with it.. I have the license code on the sticker on the bottom of the TP, but no media..

Why does it have to be so hard to go legit... argh

Nick Burns blows!

Two more possibilities:

Call IBM for the recovery CDs or pm Bill Morrow of this forum.

In any case before one formats a hdd it is always wise to make sure to have the recovery CDs or at least an image.

Do you have still the service partition? Then you could get the orginal state of the hdd again (press F11 or access IBM during the boot phase).

Any guess as to the best # to get a person who can actually sell me the little turkeys?

I didn't just format for the grins of it. My company saw fit to take the recovery CDs and load a bloated out version of Win2K with no recovery partition.. My only reasonable choice was to start over and run WinXP.. or I suppose I could plod along like the rest of the trolls and use win2k. .. but that is not me..

Thanks
