I am looking for a really cheap (<$120) laptop that has an internal DVD burner. Any brand is fine. I'm buying this for my mom, who will use this laptop *only* for burning CDs and DVDs. She won't be getting on the internet at all, so I'll probably install Windows 2000 on it. I think the minimum requirements would be:
800MHz CPU (Celeron is fine)
256MB RAM
800x600 resolution
10GB hard drive
a battery that lasts at least several minutes (just in case she accidentally unplugs the AC adapter)
Among Thinkpads, the 600X and T20 would probably be the oldest and cheapest models that meet these requirements, but again, I'll consider non-Thinkpads. Please PM me if you have something for me!
UPDATE: I decided to give her my T42. It originally came with a combo drive, but I will swap it with the DVD burner in my T43p.

Does not have a DVD burner, but it will run the Sony Optitrac from here

Just fine.
You would need to pick up the rails to make it slide into the UltraBay
Total would be very close to what your looking to spend
