Changed Wireless Mode not stored for Intel 5100 AGN Card

#1 Post by gustavlund » Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:36 pm

Running XP on a T400 with an Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN card.
I can't change "wireless mode" under the network card in Device Manager.
Or actually I can change it but as soon as I reboot I am back again.
I have a number of times been tried to change it but as soon as I reboot I am back with the setting 802.11b only. :-(
(if only the setting a can't change was G or N. Now I am stuck with b)

What could be the reason. Any error in the registry or where does these settings get stored?
I am using 12.2.0.11 which I believe is the latest Intel driver.

I've had a LOT of problems with the intel software. I eventually just uninstalled it. You can try doing a registry search for the name of the network adapter, and try finding the value there. I tried that with my MAC address though, and failed miserably. It just ignored the new value.
