#1 Post by tonn » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:32 am

Hy!

I have a problem with T400 hibernate. It crash in the boot up. Says something, windows didnt close properly smt. So in the google there is many of subjects like that but i had tried many of them, and they didnt work. Hibernate didnt work for beginning, when i did clean vista pro sp1 install with Lenovo recovery partition! I have tried with vista updates, what are supposed to fix that problem, but so far any luck!

It might be not a Windows problem, but rather a BIOS issue. Check out Lenovo website for BIOS updates that might concern this or similar problems. Also, be careful if you have to update your BIOS.

Good luck

I did that, with together lenovo system update and nothing change!
When i bought a machine, hibernate also didnt work, but then i was able to fix that, installing some older windows updates. But my system had crashed and i took that in the quarantine, after that when they installed a new copy of windows, then the hibernate again didnt work still now!

Edit: So anyway my problem has solved. I fixed with that:
1. Run CMD.EXE as administrator
2. Run the following command: bcdedit -enum all
Look for "Resume from Hibernate" in the output from the command above(example below):
Resume from Hibernate
identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}
device partition=C:
path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe
description Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered)
inherit {resumeloadersettings}
filedevice partition=C:
filepath \hiberfil.sys
pae Yes
debugoptionenabled No
3. Once you have found it, copy the value for identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963})
4. Run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit
5. Test hibernation.
In here!
