Long-term performance analysis of Intel Mainstream SSDs

Interesting article that analise SSDs performance through time under heavy load...

Guess what, it seems that fragmentation is a problem, but conventional defrag tools will not help...

Click on the link for more details...

...and I was almost ready to buy a SSD some time ago... Let´s see how this problem (and any other future ones) will get resolved.

fyi, a link to the article was also posted here yesterday. But I agree that it deserves more exposure here as well.

And I was wondering where I had seen this before...

Interesting.

However, I would expect Intel to give more details of their findings and reasoning. The original reviewer, so far as I know, had released enough details for Intel to refute point by point. A press release isn't suffice (given the higher price commanded by those Intel SSD).

BTW... http://news.google.com/news?q=intel+ssd

I knew there would be more problems with SSD's than was readily apparent. I hope they solve the issue with NAND and NOR states so it can be properly erased. Maybe a grid or something.
New:
Thinkpad T430s 8GB DDR3, 1600x900, 128GB + 250GB SSD's, etc.
Old:
E6520, Precision M4400, D630, Latitude E6520
ThinkPad Tablet 16GB 1838-22U
IBM Thinkpad X61T, T61, T43, X41T, T60, T41P, T42, T410, X301
