Probably shortly after the release of the new Intel platform for mobile, which means not before September this year according to some folks.

i hope they are going to make the new T series better looking this time. how about something like x30x style but bigger? i really want them to loose the clicky silver buttons.

I wouldn´t call X30x better looking :) I don´t like the black hinges and the thick screen bezels. But I would like the return of the black buttons as well.

the T23 has black hinges. the thick hinges problem is a widescreen problem or a touchpad problem - depends how you look at it. if you would remove the touchpad you could make the rest of the laptop smaller and the screen smaller.

Its probably just going to be a processor/chipset update... I doubt structure is going to change.

The silver ones may look cheap but I learned to appreciate them when working in dark conditions, it's simply easier to find them than it was on my T41. And after all, that's what we like about ThinkPads - functionality goes first.

T4xx and T5xx are already planned to ship with old-style T6x keyboards.

The only difference I´m aware of between the keyboard of both models is the engineering design and the keyboard layout. Lenovo has been actually offering keyboard replacement for T400/T500 customers who find their keyboards unsatisfactory. The keyboard replacements were (are?) T61 keyboards, which supposedly don´t seem to exhibit that flex and seem firmer. I can imagine Lenovo has made some cardinal decision after the many complaints about T400/T500 keyboards to ship all new T units with the older T keyboards.
